Your task is it to keep the inhabitants of your planets happy, for example by growing food or providing them with sunlight. It ties into the Space Team storyworld. (Website coming soon)

Joe X (INDIE | 2014)

SPiN WARS (Brightside Games | 2013)

blog_spinwars SPiN WARS is a fun party game for 2 – 4 players. It can be played on mobile platforms as well as on PC, Mac and Linux. I worked on SPiN WARS during the time I spent as an intern at Brightside Games. My main responsibility was porting the controls from mobile (touch) to keyboard, mouse and controllers. We used Unity3D and C#.

Sheep Shack (Brightside Games | 2012)

Sheep Shack is the latest action puzzle game that combines an innovative puzzle mix with adorable characters, resulting in addictive gameplay for all ages. Your new, adorable sheep friends need your help! Feed them, shear them and kill the angry wolves.

Sheep Shack is the first game I worked on during my time at Brightside Games and it is the one I’m most attached to. I got to work on all major phases of its development cycle, from early prototype to near gold master. I mostly did general game programming (with Unity3D and C#). I am especially proud of the fact, that I was responsible for finding and solving a major performance problem (and reducing the number of draw calls from ~200 to ~20) with almost no knowledge of graphics programming at the time.

Specter (INDIE | WIP)

blog_specter Specter is a singleplayer action platformer with puzzle elements. Think Mario meets Castlevania. I’m doing all of the programming and a friend of mine the art. Jonah Backfish is responsible for the music. We are currently working on a demo or preview version which we will make available for free. The game is build with XNA GameStudio but I might port it to MonoXNA for Linux and Mac support (too bad their content pipeline isn’t finished yet).

Candy Adventure (INDIE | 2014)

Blood Trial (Global Game Jam | 2013)

blog_bloodtrial Blood Trial is the game my team and I made at the Global Game Jam 2013 in Berlin. It is a 2D one-screen brawler. Somewhat in the style of Super Smash Bros. 2 – 4 player fight in an arena style setting to win the favor of the gods. They gain favor by ripping other players hearts out and sacrificing them at the pyramide. We had 48 hours to finish this game and it was a blast. Working with 6 other highly skilled people until exhaustion is an experience no one should

Schubsma (Mutterjam | 2013)

blog_schubsma Schubsma is a game I worked on during a 24 hour game jam for the show “Pixelmacher” of the German TV channel “ZDF Kultur”. They wanted a team of six people to create a game about motherhood for an episode with the theme “heroine”. I was one of the three programmers and worked with one producer and two artists. We implemented the first prototype on one weekend, having never worked together
